History and Influence
Harvard Medical School was established 1782 in Boston. Today, it is recognized world-wide for its extensive educational program, as well as advancements in medicine. Admissions
Getting into Harvard Medical School requires the highest academic requirements and personal qualifications. Their website lists the following minimum requirements for admission:
- Predictive measures of success in the study and practice of medicine by way of presented intellectual and personal credentials
- B.S. in biological and physical sciences supported by a broad education that includes at least 16 hours of study in the humanities and social sciences.
- Pass the MCAT with a composite score of 11.7 or better (U.S. News & World Report).
- Demonstration of participation in extracurricular activities, research, and community-service in the field of health care.
- Acceptance rate: 4.7%.
